Sir Jonathan Van-Tam

Prof. Sir Jonathan Van-Tam is well-known for his leadership role during the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly the acquisition and rollout of vaccines and antiviral drugs. As Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England he reluctantly acquired public recognition for his direct and no-nonsense communication style at the podium during pandemic briefings from No.10 Downing Street. He has played a key role in dealing with several high-profile national incidents including the Novichok attacks, Monkey Pox and Ebola. Sir Jonathan is now Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham.
